This will be gorgeous when it is completed. Though the garden has ample space, like many Londoners, the clients want a sanctuary feel, so we have tried to make it feel as snug as possible.
We love yellow London stock brickwork. If you decide to invest in high quality materials, invest also in a high quality build. Proper dig-outs, installation and attention to detail are essential if you want to build to last.
We we're happy to prepare and rework this gorgeous Ground Level Garden to incorporate Tom's new treatment room just off Camden Square. Give us a nudge if you need an acupuncturist!
Though our team have been designing and building gardens for many years, plants and flowers are researched carefully to ensure the best outcome possible. There are no guarantees but we want your gardens to thrive and not just survive. For busy people such as this client, the best solution is often an irrigation system.
This garden has been designed for the birds as much as the clients that love them. The ponds, wires, fauna and flora will help create biodiversity. The triangular planters again avert the eyes away from the length of the space.
Another long and narrow space carefully planned to create the illusion of width.
This 3D sketch of the first concept drawings, shows the view from the clients house.
Like many Londoners, the challenge in this garden is to change the vista of this long and narrow space. The diagonal paving helps divert attention sideways into the numerous pockets of garden. We are looking forward to building this in 2016.
This garden was designed for a chef. We installed a large under bench storage unit and a 'Jamie Oliver' Pizza oven. The raised beds are home to a plethora of edibles - Built Hackney 2014

Using the existing pillars these single piece york stone steps are not only impressive to look at, they are remarkably heavy too. Using robust materials still requires care and attention and our guys ensure that everything is installed correctly, with as little interruption to existing infrastructure, neighbours and even sleeping babies.
Light Well Extension Plans - submitted and accepted by Hackney council. It can be a lengthy process but we are happy to help as much as we can to secure permission to build.
Many of us enjoy the garden but don't often have much time to tend to them until their sunset years. Thinking ahead about things like raised seating and planters to enable easy access is a wise move for many who are hoping to spend retirement in the garden.
This light well extension required planning permission and a lot of hard work. We couldn't get a digger in so this was all dug out by hand!

The concept drawings for a large back garden in North London. Plotting ideas like this can help clients make major decisions before too much design work is done. The first design in the sketch is the final built design complete with a pond, fruit trees, roses, green house and two patios as well as hidden compost bins. We got on so well, we did the front garden soon after.
The gaps in this design make the space feel much bigger. The repurposed silvering timber looks great too. You can see the completed build in the Ground Level Works Gallery. Built in 2013
